ADDITION RULES!!!
1. IF THE SIGNS ARE THE SAME THEN ADD.
2. IF THE SIGNS ARE DIFFERNT THEN SUBTRACT AND KEEP THE SIGN OF THE BIGGER #!
OK LEYS TRY SOME!
LETS SAY YOU HAD THE PROBLEM 6+-4=. YOU WOULD FOLLOW ADDITION RULE # 2. SO YOU WOULD SUB. 6- -4=2. THEN YOU KEEP THE SIGN OF THE BIGGER #. THE BIGGER # IS 6 AND 6 IS POSSITIVE IN THIS PROBLEM SO THE ANSWER IS JUST 2! DO YOU GET IT? IF YOU DONT HERE ARE SOME MORE EX. FOR YOU!
-6+-8=-14 THIS ONE IS DIFF. YOU FOLLOW RULE # 1!
-5+3=-2
SUBTRCTION RULES!!!
1. ALWAYS DO PLUS THE OPPISITE TO THE SECOND #!
2.THEN FOLLOW ADDITION RULES TO DO REST.
LETS TRY SOME!!!!
OK. SO THIS ONE IS A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT THAN ADDITION. YOU HAVE TO DO PLUS THE OPPISITE. NOW SAY YOU HAD THE PROBLEM OF -8-5=. YOU DO PLUS THE OPPISITE. SO NOW YOUR PROBLEM LOOKS LIKE THIS... -8+-5 BECAUSE YOU CHANGE THE SUBTRACTION SIGN TO ADDITION AND YOU ALSO CHANGE THE POSSITIVE 5 TO A NEGATIVE 5. NO YOU JUST FOLLOW THE RULES FOR ADDITION SO NOW IT COMES OUT TO BE... -8+-5=-13. IF YOU STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND HERE ARE SOME PRACTICE PROBLEM
(NOW THIS FIRST ONE IS GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT.)
-7- -3=... -7+3= -10
-5-4=...-5- -4=-1
MULTIPLICATION RULES!!!
1. IF THE SIGNS ARE THE SAME THEN MULTIIPLY AND THE ANSWER WILL BE A POSSITIVE.
2.IF THE SIGNS ARE DIFFERENT THEN MULTIPLY AND THE ANSWER IS A NEGGATIVE.
NOW LETS TRY SOME!!!
O.K. LETS SAY YOUR PROBLEM IS -6*5=. YOU WOULD MULTIPLY THE #'S LIKE THEY ARE BOTH POSSITVES AND THEN YOUR ANSWER WILL BE A NEGGATIVE BECAUSE THE SIGNS ARE DIFF. SO 6*5=30. AND THE 30 WOULD BECOME A NEGGATIVE SO YOU ANSWER IS -30. IF YOU STILL DONT GET IT THEN HERE ARE SOME PRACTICE PROBLEMS.(FOR THE FIRST ONE YOU WILL HAVE TO FOLLOW MULTIPLICATION RULE #1)
-4*-2= 8
-7*3=-21
DIVIDING RULES!!!!!!!
1.IF THE SIGNS ARE THE SAME THEN YOU DIVIDE AND THEN YOUR ANSWER WILL BE POSSITIVE.
2. IF THE SIGNS ARE DIFFERENT THEN YOU DIVIDE AND THE ANSWER WILL BE A NEGGATIVE.
LETS TRY SOME!
SO HERE IS YOUR PROBLEM -10/5= YOU WOULD FIST JUST DIVIDE THE #'S LIKE THEY ARE BOTH POSSITIVE SO...10/5=2. SO THE SIGNS ARE DIFFERENT SO THE ANSWER IS A NEGGATIVE SO YOUR ANSWER IS... -2! NOW IF YOU STILL DONT UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY HERE IS SOME MORE PRACTICE. (THE FIRST ONE IS DIFFERENT YOU WILL HAVE TO FOLLOW DIVISION RULE #1)
-4/-2=...2!
-9/3=...-3!
NOW IF YOU STILL NEED A LITTLE MORE PRACTICE HERE IS A WEBSITE THAT WILL HELP YOU SOME MORE!

Algebra Equations
ALGEBRA EQUATIONS!!!
Algebra equations are easy.First you find out what operation the problem is doing. Then you have to do the inverse operation (the opposite operation). You then do the inverse operation to both sides. You will then get the variable by itself, and then you bring down the number after the = sign and it will show you what your variable ='s. here is an example of what i just told you.
ex. S + 5 = 15
-5 -5 GET IT!?
S = 10
CHECKING EQUATIONS
Now that you know how to solve equations you need to know how to check them. This is very easy to. First you write down the equation with the variable. Then you write under it the equation with the number that you think the variable equals. Then under the part before the = sign you write what it equals. Next to that you write = the number after the = sign. Then you write under that N or whatever your variable is = the number. Here is an example of what i just said.
ex. S + 5 = 15
10+5=15 GET IT!?
15=15
S=15
VOCABULARY
VARIABLE= ANYTHING THAT CAN VARY OR BE ANYTHING
EQUATION= A PROBLEM THAT YOU HAVE TO SOLVE BY FIGURING OUT WHAT THE VARIABLE IS.

factors and GCF
VOCABULARY
FACTORS=factors are numbers that are divisable by a number.
FACTORS
This is how you find the factors of a number. First you need to know the divisibility rules.(rules that help you find out if a number is divisible by a number.) Then you list the factors of the number wich are numbers that can go into the number.all of those numbers that you listed are called factors.
ex. 22= 1,22,2,11,
those are the factors of 22
GREATEST COMMON FACTOR
This is how you find the greatest common factors or GCF. First a GCF is a number that is the highest that is divisible by both of your numbers. So to find the GCF you would have to list the factors of the numbers or you can just list the factors of the smallest number. Now what is the highest factor in your list that is divisible by that number and the other? That number then is your GCF.
ex. 20= 1,20,2,10,4,5
4o=
20 is the GCF

Exponets and Scientific Notation
doing exponats is really easy. first you would look at your base. (the bigger number or the first number) Then you would look at your exponent. (the smaller number that comes second) say your base is 7 and your exponet is 4. you would look at your exponet and multiply your base as many times as your exponent is. so your answer would be 2,401.
ex. 4 to the 6th power
4 x 4 x 4 x 4= 256
VOCABULARY
BASE: the number that your multiplying (the larger number)
EXPONENT: the number that tells you how many times to multiply.(the smaller number)
SCIENTIFIC NOTATION
scientific notation is very easy also. when you have a decimal that is very large for example maybe simalir to this .00000000000876. you would have to move the decimal point to the first "real" number, witch in this case is the 8. so the decimal point is in between the 8 and the 7 so now your decimal looks like this, 8.76. now you would have to multiply that by an exponent. the base will always be 10. Now your exponent is the number of how many times you moved your decimal point over. so your problem that you have to find the answer to is now
8.76 x 10 to the the 12th power witch = 87,600,000.
ex. 4 to the 6th power
4 x 4 x 4 x 4= 256
